Math 1060 Trigonometry
(The motion of a spring)
This semesters group project was a model of a spring at T = a point on a graph. I fail to see the everyday use of trig for this, unless you work at a trampoline factory. However, the use of trigonometry is very handy for airplane pilots. For example, pilots use trigonometry to find their true bearing, based on wind speed, and direction of the wind. Pilots use trigonometry to calculate ground speed based on speed of the aircraft and wind. Also, the use of trigonometry is very handy for finding angles in a triangle or a leg of a triangle from the digree of alpha. Finally, trigonometry was a very fun class and I hope to keep my skills fresh as time goes forward.
