The main project of this course was to
change a communication weakness. I found so many concepts that are
valuable to building self-esteem that the hard part was to find
implementable. I plan on continuing on improving my interpersonal
communication skills. I found that a positive self-esteem can
influence how I see the world.
Armed with the knowledge of self talk
I feel I can manage my moods and feelings. In the work place it is
important not to take anything personal. In the past I would dwell on
negative feedback from employers and co-workers. Now I hope to use
positive intrapersonal communication to stop the mental dwelling of
negative feedback. Moreover, I have learned that negative moods can influence others to have negative moods. In the workplace it is valuable to keep a positive perspective for the whole team.
Consequently, I have used this
assignment to broaden my perspective with altruism. I use the tool of
intrpersonal communication to consider others. I am taking an
international studies class that forces natural born citizens to
consider how immigrants feel. This assignment outlines my struggle to
be excepted. I use such ideas to empathize with immigrants. I realize
that as human beings we want to be loved, respected, and safe.
